Walk Now Event Is Now Over

Donation Total To Date: $2,070.00

But we can still accept Donations towards the Team. We can't believe how much was raised in pledges and donations and we're eternally gratefull for everyone's unbelievable support. I wasn't able to make it to the walk myself, but my sister said everyone had a wonderful time.

As soon as we've got all the pictures posted we'll add an album here.

The great thing about these walks is that you can usually find some really great information so if there's anything you might not know you'll surely find out there. People are always coming up with new techniques on how best to handle these children and it looks like someone has thought of the perfect thing.

Service Dogs. My nephew is now on a waiting list to receive a beautiful Golden Retriever to aid him in his education and progress towards a more balanced life. The training for both the dog and the child is much like the training for the blind.

We're really looking forward to participating in this program. We only wish we had known about it sooner. It's been around since 2002 and it looks like they get really great results. They don't guarantee a perfect match between dog and child. And not everychild will benefit from a service dog so my sister and her family will be evaluated to see if their family is suited for an ASDA service dog. I'm sure she won't have anything to worry about because I'm positive Aric would benefit substantially from a service dog.

So all in all they had a fine time and learned a great many things. Most importantly Aric had fun.
